5 Teams To Consider Spot Starters Against
Posted on April 6th, 2008 by dchase
Here is a list of good teams to activate spot starters against: (Don’t forget about ballparks)
- San Francisco Giants (Home & Away)
- Washington Nationals (Home & Away)
- Pittsburgh Pirates (Home & Away)
- Arizona Diamondbacks (Away)
- San Diego Padres (Home)
Here are 5 more, but proceed with a little more caution:
- St. Louis Cardinals (Home & Away)
- Kansas City Royals (Home & Away)
- Florida Marlins (Home)
- Seattle Mariners (Home & Away)
- Cincinnati Reds (Away)
wait till Mike Cameron comes back, milwaukee’s lineup will be good to go against if you want a lot of K’s (though your pitcher might not make it far in the game) Imagine weeks and cameron batting back to back or something like that. HArt, bill hall, etc. also K pretty often.
10 k’s in 6 innings is possible going up against that!
How about the Marlins? Ian Snell and Oliver Perez both recorded 10K’s against them this week.
The Marlins are a good suggestion, they’re also projected to score the 6th fewest runs this season. I’ll have to add them up top.
The Brewers have a lot of batters who can take pitches, and hit for power. The K potential is probably there, but I wouldn’t want to start “spot starters” against them. But I tend to be a little more conservative with my management style in general.
Are the nats really a pushover offense any more? With Zimm, Milledge, Johnson and Kearns, I had taken them off my list for this season. Also, Seattle doesn’t strike out much, no?
