A Firefox Extension Fantasy Baseball Managers Can’t Go On Without

Posted on February 13th, 2008 by dchase

How many times have you had to manually visit a site simply to use their search engine? Fangraphs, BaseballCube, & ESPN quickly come to mind.

As Fantasy Baseball Managers, we’re always gathering player performance data, and unfortunately the industry does a bad job consolidating all these important metrics in one player card.

Thanks to this Firefox Extension, you can simply right click any site that has a search bar and add it to your Firefox browser. For those familiar with the beauty of Firefox, you’ll love this extension.

Once you get the extension installed, here are some search bars you should consider adding:

Great link, thanks. I have this on my Firefox but rarely use it, normally opening up a new tab and manually entering the website. I’m disappointed that my favorite baseball database - thebaseballcube.com is not available.

thats to bad. It also doesn’t work for fangraphs (unless there’s some kind of work around)

Just passing through…guys there’s a way around it, and both of those sites can be added to your search bar. I just tried them out searching Albert Pujols and they work just fine. Go to

    http://mycroft.mozdev.org/index.html

Type the exact websiteyou wanturl into the search query on that page, in this case

    http://www.fangraphs.com/

    and

    http://www.thebaseballcube.com/

You’ll see that you can add those search bars to your browser. I hope this helps.

amazing. it worked! this should save me a lot of time. I’m constantly looking at batted ball data at fangraphs.

fangraphs is apparent in my browser but when I type in a player it takes me to their homepage and not their player card.

[…] Brock For Broglio pointed out a very cool thing to me the other day. You can search Baseball-Reference using your search engine bar on your Firefox browser. Very cool. […]

yeah some of those are broken at mozdev.

the baseball cube one works great, but the baseball reference search engine is by far the best.

i am just stoke i was able to add my site into the system with this new download

    thanks chase
